Christening Outfits for Boys

A baby is a bundle of joy and is welcomed into the family with pride and excitement. Christening or baptizing is an important event in the life of the new parents. They would want to purchase the best christening outfits for their little boy. This article gives a brief idea regarding the christening outfits for boys

Christening is otherwise known as baptism and can be conducted at any time of the year. However, many parents prefer to conduct it during spring when the weather is warm. There is a belief among many Christians that spring season is the harbinger of new life. Hence they wish to dedicate their baby, a new life to God. The parents for the christening ceremony of their baby invite close family members and friends. Whether it is a baby girl or a boy, gifts are given to the little ones as part of the ceremony. There is a wide variety of christening outfit for both baby boys and baby girls that could be used as gifts.

Baby Boy’s Christening Gowns

Christening outfits for boys are available in a wide variety of patterns, sizes and designs. Sometimes the baby’s parents do not really know which christening gown to choose.

  • The main christening outfit for a baby boy is the baptism gown. Traditionally, the christening gown or the baptism gown is a long, formal white gown made from fabrics such as silk, organic cotton, soft gabardine, satin, organza, and so on. These gowns are gender neutral and could be worn by either a baby boy or a baby girl. The christening gown is usually worn by a baby who is not a toddler.
  • Another christening outfit for a toddler baby boy is the "Day Gown". This can be worn after the formal ceremony is over. This christening outfit is a short dress that reaches up to the knees. This outfit is more convenient when you pass the baby around your family and friends.
  • Today, many little boys are baptized in a two piece suit. This is fast becoming a popular christening outfit for boys. A baby suit for boys is the miniature version of a grown boy’s suit or a tuxedo. There is also a matching hat that is the part of this christening outfit.

Christening Outfits for Boys

Apart from gown, the other christening outfits for boys include the baby boy christening blankets and shawls, christening shoes made from white satin, christening bibs, christening towels and many more. The christening outfits for boys are made from fine fabric like silk, satin or organic cotton and wool. There are a wide variety of christening hats available to complete the christening outfits for boys.

Christening outfits for boys are mind-boggling. Parents are sometimes not able to make decision of what to buy. Christening outfits for boys are available in various budget strengths. Heirloom christening outfits for boys is available in many baby stores. Heirloom christening outfits such as gowns and shoes can be handed down to next generation.

Christening Gifts That Will Demonstrate Your Commitment

Baby blankets, picture frames, personalized plates! Throughout the years, christening gifts have always been thoughtful and sentimental and if you're trying to find one for a new arrival in your life then we're here to help.

There are as many different kinds of christening gifts out there as there are different kinds of Christians! Some people opt for a very simple low key affair while others want to celebrate their child's baptism in a big way, throwing elaborate functions after the church event and having a shin dig.

Equally, some of the christening gifts out there are very religiously symbolic and others are less religious and more sentimental. Whatever taste the family has there is bound to be something perfect for their tiny tot. So, sit back, relax and let us tell you how easy buying christening gifts can be!

Showing you're Committed:
By getting gifts for a baby on their christening you're showing that you're committed to caring for the baby and emotionally invested in their upbringing. It's a wonderful time and by declaring your affections and attentions for the small child you're helping to shape their future.

As such, traditionally it's only the godparents and the grandparents of the child who need to buy gifts. However, these days many of us feel like celebrating the birth of a new child and if we don't do it at the baby shower or immediately after the baby is born, we're bound to want to buy a christening gift instead. If you want to get the baby or the baby's parents a gift, go right ahead. Some traditionalist families might find it odd, but they'll love the thought and care regardless and everyone loves to receive presents!

Choosing the Gifts:
If you're a relative you may want to opt for religiously symbolic christening gifts for the baby. That could be anything from a beautiful baby blanket embroidered with a Christian cross and the name of the child to something as subtle as a Noah's ark money box with a message inscribed in to the silver plated side of the piece. You can come up with your own message, use part of a poem, a famous quote or even take inspiration from the bible. For less religiously inclined attendees who still want to show support in their own way there are loads of colorful and fun gifts for children which would be just as suitable. While a space hopper wouldn't be! A children's digger style money box would be just fine and so would a half pint pewter tankard engraved with a message of love. The most important thing at a christening is that the parents are congratulated and that the baby is baptized and celebrated, christening gifts will always be a low priority by comparison!

Alternative Options:
We love gifts and think it's hard to beat them but there are lots of alternative options when it comes to christening gifts which are still worth considering. Some families like to hand down patchwork quilts or hand make christening gifts for that personal touch and often godparents set up small savings accounts or trusts to pay a little cash in to yearly for their grandson or granddaughter. Not all godparents do that though and it's definitely not a requirement christening gifts are more than enough.

If you're going to a christening with a buffet style reception, the parents of the child could even ask that you bring a gift of food to contribute to the buffet (especially if you bake really good cakes!) and there are lots of other ways to muck in with the celebrations other than buy buying gifts. Then again, picture frames which say 'christening' on them and feature a small cross and other nice keepsakes start at just 5 each so if you want to buy a gift it's easy and affordable.

The Parents:
Because some families choose to combine the baby shower and the christening in to one big bash, sometimes guests bring gifts for the parents of the baby too. If the baby's parents are your close friend then that could be an opportunity to really make them feel great by giving them a bottle of personalized champagne or even buying them a pamper experience day, where they can go away and relax together while someone else in the family takes care of the new born. After all, new babies don't just mean christenings; they mean sleepless nights, nappy changing and endless feeding too. Add the mild stress of arranging a christening to that and you have a couple who really deserve some time to relax and unwind!

Baptism Invitations: the Basics of Baptism Invitations

The best part about baptism invitations is that they’re most informal, colloquial, personalized kinds of cards there are. Baptisms are less formal than christenings and less intense than birthday parties. Infant baptisms are fun, free, important events for Christian denominations all across the world. So, who should be invited? Where should it be hosted? And what should the invitations look like, what should they inform the guest of, and when should the momentous event take place?

As to the first question, it’s sufficient to invite very close friends, God parents, and extended family. That last point is contingent on the proximity of relatives to the event, their closeness to the family, their affiliation with the faith, and other circumstantial factors. If they’re in the neighborhood and aren’t appalled at religious services, it’s a must to invite them, although it’s probably cheaper to just make phone calls. On the other hand, in-laws are tough to talk to sometimes so it’s wise to send out invitations.

As to the second question, it should be hosted at your church; in that case, there’s really no need to send out invitations because everyone will already be members of the church, and it will occur, most likely, during the Sunday church service. You can completely skip over the invitations and just schedule the event with your pastor.

Finally, as to the third question, the invitations should look personal, informal, and patently child-like. Infant baptisms need not be any more formal than a homemade collage of baby pictures with glitter and stickers pasted around it. That’s an analogy, of course, but infant baptisms are the least formal of all popular celebrations. They’re much less formal than a Christening and hardly even worth sending out invites for. Everyone at your church will already be there, of course. However, if you’re hosting the event elsewhere, it’s essential that the clergy, church members, friends, and relatives all receive invites. There’s just no reason not to. Afterward, you can all go out and have lunch as a way of celebrating. The invitations should inform people of the following: the baby’s name, a photograph of the baby, and the day, date, time, and place of the infant baptism.

Baptism invitations are ultra-fun, and you can make one by hand and scan it into your computer and print multiple color copies. Or, order from the thousands of pre-made designs on dedicated greeting card
and special event invitational card websites.
